Welcome to the new financial year! The news at a national level may be forecasting slowing markets, housing bubbles busting and rising unemployment but as always the Gold Coast with its own microeconomy is bucking the trend.
I always like to keep involved in what is going on in the Gold Coast and have recently attended events with Australian Institute of Company Directors, Young Professionals, Griffith University Business School and the TSS Business breakfast where Tony Abbott made a presentation.
Having spoken to many of the Gold Coast business community, it is great to see such a positive outlook for our region. Both small and large companies are forecasting growth and expansion , tourism numbers are up, things are ramping up for the Commonwealth Games and new developments are starting come out of the ground once more.
2014 was a much stronger year than 2013 and I predict 2015 and 2016 will continue on the same upward trend. It’s a great time to be on the Gold Coast!
